Tinubu Grants Posthumous Pardons to Macaulay, Vatsa, Ogoni 9, and Others

President Bola Tinubu has granted posthumous pardons to notable figures including former Nigerian nationalist Dr. Herbert Macaulay, Major General Mamman Vatsa, and the Ogoni 9.

The pardon, endorsed by the National Council of State, also included four living individuals. Among those pardoned were former House of Representatives member Farouk Lawan and Mrs.

Anastasia Daniel Nwaobia. Tinubu's decision to pardon these individuals, both deceased and living, is a significant gesture aimed at rectifying past injustices and recognizing their contributions to Nigerian history and society.
