Tinubu Certifies Shettima as APC VP Candidate for 2027

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu officially presented a certificate to Kashim Shettima, confirming him as the Vice-Presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 elections. This presentation followed the APC's endorsement of Shettima as Tinubu's running mate.

Tinubu's special assistant on social media, Olusegun Dada, shared a video of the event on social media, showing Shettima arriving at the venue and exchanging brief remarks with Tinubu. The certificate presentation was intended to dismiss reports suggesting uncertainty regarding Shettima's position, with Tinubu asserting that there is no doubt about the Vice-President's place in the administration.

The APC expressed confidence that the Tinubu-Shettima ticket would seek a second term in the 2027 elections, completing the nomination process ahead of the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) submission deadline.
