INEC Displays Tinubu and Shettima's Credentials for 2027

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the public display of personal particulars and academic credentials of presidential candidates for the 2027 general election, starting on Saturday. This includes documents submitted by President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress and his running mate, Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Tinubu's Form EC9 reveals his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Chicago State University, awarded “with honours” on June 22, 1979. His work history includes employment at Mobil Nigeria Limited from 1983 to 1992, the Lagos State Government from 1999 to 2007, and the Federal Government of Nigeria from 2023 to present.

Shettima's displayed documents trace his education from primary school through to his Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan. The display of credentials is mandated under Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act, 2026, requiring INEC to publish candidates’ particulars within 21 days of receipt.
