Tinubu reverses Dankaka’s re-appointment, names new FCC chair

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reversed the reappointment of Muheeba Dankaka as the Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC). In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, it was announced that former House of Representatives member Ayo Omidiran has been named as the new FCC chair.

Tinubu appointed Mohammed Musa as the Commission secretary and retained Kayode Oladele Ogun as commissioner. Several new commissioners were also appointed to represent various states.

The decision to reverse Dankaka's reappointment comes after her tenure was marred by controversy. The move was met with congratulatory messages, including one from Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
