Tinubu Celebrates Makarfi's 70th Birthday with Praise

President Bola Tinubu congratulated Senator Ahmed Makarfi, former Governor of Kaduna State and ex-National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, on his 70th birthday, which he celebrated on Saturday, August 8. In a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described Makarfi as a "quintessential public servant and statesman," commending his integrity and exemplary leadership.

Makarfi served as Kaduna State Commissioner for Finance before becoming governor from 1999 to 2007 and later represented Kaduna North Senatorial District in the National Assembly. He also chaired the PDP Caretaker Committee during a crisis period in the party.

Tinubu acknowledged Makarfi's commitment to democratic ideals and prudent management of public resources, stating that his contributions to governance had earned him respect across political divides. The President prayed for Makarfi's continued good health and wisdom as he serves Nigeria and humanity.
