Tinubu Celebrates Sultan of Sokoto on 70th Birthday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulated His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, on his 70th birthday. In a statement he personally signed, Tinubu described the Sultan as “a stabilising voice in times of turbulence, a bridge-builder across faiths and communities, and a moral compass” for both the Muslim ummah and the entire nation.

He acknowledged the Sultan's nearly two decades of service on the throne, emphasizing his commitment to peace, education, interfaith dialogue, and humanitarian efforts. Tinubu expressed gratitude for the Sultan's partnership in nation-building and prayed for his continued health and strength.
