Tinubu Seeks Senate Confirmation for New Petroleum Agency Heads Amid Resignations

Former President Muhammadu Buhari's appointees, Farouk Ahmed and Gbenga Komolafe, have resigned as the heads of NMDPRA and NUPRC, respectively. As a result, Senator Tinubu has requested Senate confirmation for new chief executives in the petroleum regulatory agencies.

The resignations come amidst deepening controversies in Nigeria's midstream and downstream petroleum sectors. President Buhari's special adviser, Bayo Onanuga, announced the proposed replacements for the vacant positions.
