Jonathan Thanks Tinubu and Ouattara for Evacuation During Guinea Bissau Coup

Former Nigerian President Jonathan disclosed that Nigerian President Tinubu and Ivorian President Ouattara sent a plane to evacuate him and his team from Guinea Bissau during a recent coup. The Ivorian plane arrived first due to proximity, prompting the Nigerian plane to stand down.

Jonathan expressed gratitude for the assistance that ensured the safety of the delegation amidst the tense political situation. He had been in Guinea Bissau as the head of the West African Elder Forum's election observation mission.

The military takeover was condemned by regional and continental leaders as a sinister attempt to disrupt the electoral process.
