Goodluck Jonathan Returns to Abuja After Evacuation from Guinea-Bissau Coup

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has returned to Abuja after being evacuated from Guinea-Bissau in the wake of a military coup. Jonathan, who was in Guinea-Bissau as the head of the West African Elder Forum's election observation mission, was captured in a video stepping down from the aircraft upon his arrival at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

The Nigerian government ensured his safe return, with a delegation that included spokesperson Moham Chamba and Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative Kimiebi Ebienfa. Jonathan's evacuation came after the military took over the government in Guinea-Bissau, prompting concerns for his safety.
