Tinubu Celebrates Nigerian Sports Stars in UK Address

On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu referenced prominent sports figures of Nigerian heritage, including footballers Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze, as well as boxer Anthony Joshua, during his address to King Charles III at Windsor Castle. Tinubu underscored the deep ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, noting that these individuals exemplify the strong cultural connections and contributions of Nigerians to the UK.

He highlighted the vital role of Nigerian professionals, particularly doctors and nurses, in delivering healthcare services, stating that Nigerian-trained doctors represent one of the largest groups in the international medical profession. Tinubu also mentioned rugby player Maro Itoje and reiterated the significance of the Nigerian diaspora in the UK, describing it as a vibrant global community.

He expressed optimism about Nigeria's continued contributions to the growth and strength of the Commonwealth.
