Tinubu Celebrates Nigerian Athletes in UK Address

During a state visit to the United Kingdom, President Bola Tinubu delivered an address at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, where he spotlighted notable Nigerian athletes such as Anthony Joshua, Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, and Maro Itoje. Tinubu acknowledged their significant contributions to British life and underscored the deep cultural connections between Nigeria and the UK.

He noted that Saka, born to Nigerian parents, has emerged as a key figure in England's football team, while Eze has made a name for himself in the Premier League. Joshua, a boxer of Nigerian heritage, won gold at the 2012 London Olympics and has held multiple heavyweight titles.

Tinubu emphasized the vital role of the Nigerian diaspora in the UK, particularly in healthcare, where Nigerian doctors and nurses play an indispensable role. He expressed optimism about Nigeria's ongoing contributions to the Commonwealth and reinforced the enduring partnership between Nigeria and the UK.
