Tinubu Swears in Tunji Disu as New IGP in Abuja

On Wednesday afternoon, October 23, 2023, President Bola Tinubu administered the oath of office to Tunji Disu, appointing him as the 23rd Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Nigeria. The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.

In addition to Disu, six commissioners were sworn in, including members of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC). The event preceded the inaugural meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for 2026, which was attended by various high-ranking officials, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
