Sanwo-Olu Congratulates Tinubu on APC Primary Victory

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu congratulated Bola Tinubu on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections. In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu described Tinubu's victory in the APC presidential primary as a reflection of the continued confidence of party members in his leadership.

He commended the peaceful organization of the electoral process across the country and praised the APC National Working Committee and state executives for ensuring a smooth exercise. Sanwo-Olu noted that the APC's adoption of direct primaries demonstrates the party's commitment to internal democracy, providing members with a stronger voice in the selection process.

He expressed optimism for Nigeria's future under Tinubu's leadership, highlighting the importance of bold decisions to stabilize the economy and set the country on a path for long-term growth. Tinubu reportedly secured 10 million votes, defeating his closest challenger, Stanlei Osifo.
