Imumolen Endorses Tinubu for 2027 Presidential Election

On Friday in Lagos, Prof. Christopher Imumolen, the former presidential candidate of the Accord Party, announced his withdrawal from the 2027 presidential race and declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election. Imumolen stated that his decision followed extensive consultations with the leadership and members of the Accord Party, emphasizing that national interest should take precedence over personal ambition.

He expressed confidence that Tinubu's administration's reforms and growing support across Nigeria would secure victory in the upcoming election. Imumolen noted that Nigerians are beginning to recognize the long-term benefits of Tinubu's reform agenda despite current economic challenges.

He listed ten considerations for the Accord Party's support, including Tinubu's courage in implementing economic reforms, leadership capacity, and commitment to continuity in development projects. Imumolen also dismissed the prospects of opposition candidates from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) surpassing Tinubu in the 2027 election.
