NNPP Chieftain Resigns Ahead of 2027 Election, Cites Desire for Non-Partisan Contribution

A top chieftain of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), Adekunle Razaq Aderibigbe, has resigned from the party in preparation for the 2027 election. In his resignation letter addressed to the NNPP chairman in Ikorodu, Aderibigbe expressed his intention to contribute to Nigeria's development through policy research and government reform outside partisan political structures.

The resignation comes amidst reports of former Kano governor Rabiu Public's claim suggesting that members of a group were planning to join a political party, which was later clarified in a communiqué following an extensive meeting held in Kano.
