Tope Alabi's Quiet Birthday Amid Toluwanisings' Death Claims

Tope Alabi marked her 56th birthday on October 27, 2026, with a subdued celebration, contrasting with her previous year's festivities. This year, she remained quiet on social media due to a controversy surrounding the death of fellow gospel artist Toluwanisings, who passed away on October 14, 2026, at the age of 41.

A Canada-based cleric, Pastor Tayo Kumuyi, accused Alabi of murder and ritual killing related to Toluwanisings' death, along with other gospel artists. Alabi had previously expressed her shock over Toluwanisings' passing and had mourned him publicly.

In response to the allegations, Alabi's legal team issued a public notice on October 23, 2026, warning against false statements and subsequently sent a cease-and-desist letter to Kumuyi, demanding the removal of defamatory posts and a public apology. Although Kumuyi removed the posts, he had not issued the requested apology by the time of reporting.
