Tottenham Hotspur Appoints Roberto De Zerbi as Coach

Tottenham Hotspur has officially appointed Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach amid a relegation battle in the Premier League. De Zerbi, who recently managed Olympique de Marseille, has signed a long-term contract with the club.

He takes over from interim manager Igor Tudor, who had been in charge for just 44 days. Currently, Tottenham is only one point clear of the relegation zone and has failed to secure a league win in their last seven matches of the season.

De Zerbi expressed his happiness in joining Tottenham, highlighting the club's long-term vision and football philosophy. The 46-year-old gained recognition for his work at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he helped the team qualify for European competitions and reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

This appointment comes as Tottenham faces the prospect of relegation for the first time since the 1977-78 season, following a significant drop from their Champions League final appearance in 2019.
