Tough Continental Draws for Remo Stars, Rivers Utd

Nigeria's representatives in the CAF Champions League, Remo Stars and Rivers United, face tough draws in the upcoming season. Remo Stars will take on US Zilimadjou from Comoros Islands in the preliminary round, with the winner facing a challenging playoff against Mamelodi Sundowns, the 2016 champions.

Rivers United, on the other hand, will await the winner of the DR Congo preliminary round for their second-round game. The competition kicks off on October 17, with the group stage starting on November 21 and concluding in May 2026.

Additionally, in the CAF Confederation Cup, Asante Kotoko will host Kwara United in a first-leg match. Asante Kotoko, a former African champion, will be looking to make their mark in the competition, while Kwara United is making their third appearance in the tournament.

Abia Warriors will also make their debut in the CAF Confederation Cup, hosting Malian giants Djoliba.
