Abia Deputy Speaker's Convoy Crash Claims 2 Lives, Driver at Risk - Tragic Accident Details

Two brothers tragically died in a fatal crash involving the convoy of Abia Deputy Speaker, Hon. Austin Okezie Meregini, on the Harcourt Expressway in Abia State.

The accident left occupants of the convoy injured, with the driver at risk of paralysis without urgent spinal surgery. The deceased were identified as Ifeanyi Maduako, aged 45, and Onyedi Obasi, aged 35, from Ehime Mbano local government area.

The injured are receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre. The Deputy Speaker clarified that the incident did not involve his convoy returning from an errand.

The Federal Road Safety Corps is yet to release an official statement on the tragic incident.
