Transcorp Q1 2026 Results: Revenue ₦125.1bn, PBT ₦50.7bn
Transnational Corporation Plc has filed its unaudited Q1 2026 financial results on the Nigerian Exchange. The filing discloses revenue of ₦125.1 billion, profit before tax of ₦50.7 billion, and earnings per share of 216 kobo for the three months ended March 2026.
Transcorp Group reported revenue of ₦125.1 billion for Q1 2026, down from ₦143.7 billion recorded in Q1 2025. Despite the revenue decline, profit before tax rose 3% to ₦50.7 billion, compared with ₦49.4 billion in the same period last year. Profit after tax came in at ₦37.9 billion, up from ₦36.7 billion, while earnings per share increased to 216 kobo from 192 kobo.
The Group attributed the revenue moderation partly to challenges in its power businesses, where gas supply constraints and vandalism of transmission infrastructure limited power dispatched to the national grid to 454MW, against an available generation capacity of 973MW.
Finance costs moved from a net cost position in Q1 2025 to a net income position in Q1 2026, contributing to the improvement in pre-tax profit. The hospitality business recorded revenue and profitability growth during the quarter, supported by the commissioning of a new multipurpose Events Centre.
Total equity grew to ₦392.8 billion from ₦353.4 billion as at December 2025, while cash and cash equivalents increased to ₦31.4 billion from ₦21.9 billion over the same period.
