Transcorp Power Q1 2026 Results: Revenue and Profit Figures
Transcorp Power Plc has released its unaudited financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2026. The filing discloses revenue, profitability, balance sheet, and liquidity figures alongside management commentary on operational challenges during the period.
Transcorp Power Plc (NGX: TRANSPOWER) reported revenue of ₦94.59 billion for Q1 2026, down from ₦105.44 billion recorded in Q1 2025. Profit Before Tax stood at ₦39.59 billion, compared with ₦43.28 billion in the same period last year, while Profit After Tax came in at ₦29.70 billion against ₦32.64 billion in Q1 2025.
On the balance sheet, total assets grew to ₦613.42 billion from ₦563.48 billion as at December 2025. Shareholders' funds increased to ₦214.96 billion from ₦183.40 billion, and retained earnings rose to ₦162.10 billion from ₦132.41 billion over the same period. Cash and cash equivalents improved significantly to ₦10.40 billion from ₦2.22 billion at December 2025.
Management attributed the year-on-year decline in revenue and profit to gas supply disruptions and vandalism of transmission infrastructure operated by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). These factors reduced average power supplied to the national grid to 4,172 MW in Q1 2026, down from 4,785 MW in Q1 2025, and limited plant capacity utilisation to 70% against an available capacity of 625MW.
