Joe Cole Urges Chelsea to Sign Bernardo Silva from City

Joe Cole, a former Chelsea forward, has urged Chelsea to acquire Bernardo Silva from Manchester City to infuse experience into the team as Xabi Alonso takes over as manager. Alonso was appointed to a four-year contract in July, facing several challenges after Chelsea's disappointing tenth-place finish in the Premier League, which resulted in a failure to secure a spot in European competitions.

Cole has consistently advocated for Chelsea to move away from a youth-centric recruitment strategy and to provide essential experience to the core team. He specifically mentioned Silva as a key target, noting that he could have a significant impact similar to that of Jordan Henderson at Brentford.

Cole believes that Chelsea's owners should pursue two to three signings on two-year contracts to help propel the team forward. He expressed eagerness to see Alonso actively involved in the club's operations and emphasized the need for a strong managerial presence, referencing successful managers like Jurgen Klopp, Mikel Arteta, and Pep Guardiola.
