Troops Neutralize Terrorists in Ondo State Operation

On Saturday, troops from the 32 Artillery Brigade, led by Major Irabor Njoka, conducted a tactical operation in Ondo State, specifically in the Akoko North East Local Government Area, following credible intelligence regarding armed criminal movements. The soldiers swiftly mobilized to intercept the suspects, who reportedly engaged them in a gun battle.

The troops responded with superior firepower, resulting in the neutralization of two suspected terrorists, while others fled into the surrounding forest. The operation, which involved collaboration with the local security network agency known as Amotekun, provided ground support and knowledge of the terrain.

Items recovered from the scene included an AK-47 rifle, two magazines with 61 rounds of ammunition, three mobile handsets, a jackknife, a torchlight, illicit drugs, and cash totaling N39,000, along with personal effects. Military authorities described the operation as a significant success in the ongoing effort to flush out criminal elements, particularly in identified criminal corridors such as Akunu and Auga.
