Nigerian Army Neutralizes Terrorists in Ondo Operation

On February 14, 2026, the Nigerian Army conducted an operation in Ondo State, resulting in the neutralization of two suspected terrorists and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle. The operation was carried out by troops from the 32 Artillery Brigade, deployed to a forward operational base in Auga, along the Akunu-Auga road.

According to a statement from Major Irabor Njoka, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the operation was initiated based on credible human intelligence regarding the movement of suspected criminal elements in the area. The Nigerian Army emphasized its commitment to denying criminal elements the freedom to operate and to protect lives and property across Ondo State.

The troops are also intensifying patrols along identified criminal corridors and strengthening collaboration with local security agencies and stakeholders to ensure the security of the state. The Army urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information, noting that public cooperation is critical in efforts to eliminate criminal elements.
