Nigerian troops successfully repelled a terrorist push on Borno State, neutralizing insurgents in an early morning operation near Mandara Mountain in the Bitta area of Gwoza. Lt.

Col. Sani Uba of the Joint Task Force explained that the troops exercised tactical restraint and professionalism, allowing the insurgents to move before engaging them with coordinated defensive fire.

The troops recovered a cache of weapons and equipment, including firearms, ammunition, mobile phones, and motorcycles, illustrating the terrorists' operational capacity. The operation also involved subsequent airstrikes to disrupt the insurgents' escape routes.
