Malami Criticizes EFCC for Contempt of Court and Lawless Conduct

Former Nigerian Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Malami, has criticized the EFCC for alleged lawless conduct and contempt of court. The High Court in Abuja reportedly granted him interim bail, but the EFCC continued to detain him.

Malami's statement, shared by his media aide, condemned his prolonged detention without arraignment, describing it as illegal and unconstitutional. The President's spokesperson clarified that President Buhari did not direct the anti-corruption agency's actions.

Malami's statement was also supported by the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
