Former Nigerian Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami Granted Bail Amidst EFCC Charges

The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Abubakar Malami, the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, in a case involving charges brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Justice Bello Kawu presided over the bail hearing, where conditions such as surrendering his international passport and providing two sureties, including a member of the House of Representatives, were set.

Malami is accused of operating 46 unlawful bank accounts, including involvement in the repatriation of late General Sani Abacha's loot. Malami has denied the accusations, labeling them as baseless and maintaining his innocence.
