Trump Calls for Naval Forces to Secure Strait of Hormuz

On Saturday, former U.S. President Donald Trump called for the deployment of international naval forces to maintain the security of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for global oil shipments.

This call comes as tensions escalate between Iran and Western allies. Trump made the announcement via his Truth Social platform, emphasizing the need for coordinated efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait, which is crucial for approximately one-fifth of the world's liquefied natural gas shipments.

He urged several countries, including China, France, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom, to send naval vessels to support U.S. forces in the region. The U.S. military is reportedly intensifying operations in the area, targeting Iranian coastal positions amid ongoing threats to shipping.

Additionally, the U.S. Central Command disclosed that the price of petroleum has been volatile, changing three times within the past week.
