Trump Reinstates $15,000 Visa Bond for African Fans

Former President Donald Trump has reiterated a policy that mandates African fans to pay a $15,000 visa bond to enter the United States for the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico. This policy is aimed at reducing visa overstays and curbing illegal immigration.

It specifically affects citizens from Algeria, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Cape Verde, and Nigeria. The visa bond acts as a security deposit, which is refundable if the traveler leaves the U.S. within the terms of their visa.

However, if they overstay, they will lose their deposit. The policy applies to B-1 and B-2 tourist and business visas, and it is noted that the bond requirement is specific to fans attending matches played in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
