Trump, Tinubu Announce Killing of ISIS Leader Al-Minuki

On a recent announcement, US President Donald Trump and Nigerian President Bola Tinubu confirmed the killing of Abu Bilal al-Minuki, the second-in-command of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), during a joint military operation conducted by the Nigerian Armed Forces and the United States Armed Forces. The operation was described as complex and meticulously planned, resulting from six months of intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance efforts.

Trump praised the bravery of the American and Nigerian forces, stating that the operation dealt a significant blow to ISIS's activities in Africa. Tinubu expressed gratitude for the partnership with the US and emphasized the importance of continued strikes against terrorist camps across Nigeria.

The operation was coordinated by Major General Samaila Uba, who noted that al-Minuki played a critical role in the terrorist network threatening the Lake Chad Basin and the wider West African region.
