Trump Displeased with Iran's Proposal Amid Conflict

U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly unhappy with Iran's latest proposal to resolve the two-month conflict, which has disrupted energy supplies and fueled inflation.

The proposal, presented by Iranian Foreign Minister Abba Araqchi, sets aside discussions on Iran's nuclear program until after a ceasefire is established. U.S. officials, including White House spokeswoman Olivia Wale, emphasized that the U.S. seeks to end the war that began in February and maintain a clear stance on Iran's nuclear capabilities.

The 2015 agreement that curtailed Iran's nuclear program fell apart when Trump withdrew from it during his first term. The proposal aims to initiate talks while ensuring that the U.S. cannot restart hostilities.

Iran's government has condemned U.S. actions against its shipping and is preparing for potential maritime blockades. The ongoing conflict has significantly impacted oil prices and trade routes, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz.
