Iran Rejects U.S. Ceasefire Proposal Amid Ongoing Conflict

Iran has responded to a U.S. proposal aimed at ending the ongoing war, which President Donald Trump quickly rejected as "totally unacceptable." The proposal, communicated through Pakistani media, sought to focus on a permanent cessation of hostilities, including issues related to Lebanon and Israel, and aimed to ensure the security of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump's remarks on social media accused Tehran of playing games, emphasizing that he would not tolerate such actions.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, stated that Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has not publicly addressed the war since it began.

Iran's proposal included an immediate halt to hostilities, the lifting of U.S. sanctions, and guarantees against further attacks. The conflict has raised concerns about global energy supply, particularly as the Strait of Hormuz is crucial for oil transport.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented that military operations against Iran are not yet complete, indicating ongoing tensions.
