TUC Warns Dangote Company Over Worker Rights Violation

The Trade Union Congress (TUC) delivered a stern message to Dangote Company, owned by Africa's richest man, regarding the rights of Nigerian workers. TUC criticized the alleged dismissal of nearly 800 Nigerian workers at the Dangote Refinery, replaced by foreign nationals, mostly Indians.

This move raised concerns about the treatment of local workers and the violation of labor rights. TUC highlighted the importance of upholding workers' rights and criticized the company for prioritizing efficiency over the dignity of Nigerian employees.

The situation escalated as the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) threatened nationwide action to address the issue.
