Tuchel Not Angry Over England Player Withdrawals Ahead of Friendlies

Thomas Tuchel, the England manager, stated he is not angry about the withdrawals of several players from the squad ahead of Tuesday's friendly against Japan. Players including Noni Madueke, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, John Stones, and Adam Wharton were dropped from the squad, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Fikayo Tomori, and Aaron Ramsdale were also cut.

Tuchel expressed disappointment but acknowledged the reality of the end-of-season fatigue and the need for players to have a mental break. He mentioned that he wants everyone to be in good spirits and health, especially as they prepare for the World Cup scheduled from June 11 to July 19.

The England team will play friendlies against New Zealand and Costa Rica in June before opening their World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 17, followed by matches against Ghana and Panama.
