Uba Sani Approves N4.289 Billion for Pension Payments

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has approved a total of N4.289 billion for the payment of pensions to state and local government pensioners. This funding will benefit 1,637 individuals under the contributory pension scheme, with N3.915 billion allocated for 1,392 pensioners and N374 million for 245 beneficiaries receiving death benefits.

Malam Ahm Maiyaki, the Commissioner for Finance, stated that the cumulative sum paid since the administration began has reached N17.796 billion. The latest disbursement is part of a broader effort to address pension backlogs and restore trust in the pension system.

Governor Sani emphasized his commitment to the welfare of senior citizens, ensuring that the sacrifices of retired workers and their families are honored. This initiative is part of a larger reform aimed at promoting fiscal discipline and enhancing transparency in the management of public finances, with a focus on guaranteeing timely settlement of pension obligations.
