Uba Sani Invests N1 Billion in Kaduna Education Initiatives

Over the last three years, Governor Uba Sani has invested over N1 billion in scholarships and student loan programs in Kaduna State, aimed at enhancing access to higher education and alleviating financial burdens on students. Malam Ahm Maiyaki, the commission's informant, disclosed this during an interaction with journalists in Kaduna.

The investment includes a landmark executive order that reduced tuition fees by 50% across state-owned tertiary institutions. The state government has allocated N493.27 million for overseas scholarships benefiting 42 students in critical fields such as medicine, computer science, and cybersecurity.

Additionally, N425.52 million has been disbursed for local scholarships for indigent students studying at tertiary institutions nationwide. The administration has committed N105 million to a student loan scheme, with N27.25 million released to support law graduates' registration fees for the Nigerian Law School.

Professor Yahaya Saleh Ibrahim noted that the scholarship program has benefited 21,106 students across 40 higher institutions, establishing Kaduna State as a national model for educational support.
