UBA Launches Diaspora Platform for Healthcare Investment

United Bank for Africa (UBA) unveiled a Diaspora Platform designed to attract investments from the Nigerian diaspora in the healthcare sector. This initiative was introduced during the ANPA Carolina Symposium held in Charlotte, North Carolina, which gathered 170 healthcare professionals.
Anant Rao, UBA's head of diaspora banking, stated that the platform aims to create a financial structure linking diaspora investors to healthcare projects in Nigeria, addressing previous investment challenges. The program is set to develop specialist hospitals, diagnostic facilities, telemedicine systems, and medical training centers across Nigeria by 2026.
UBA plans to act as a custodian for the investment fund, managing assets worth 1.2 trillion naira. Additionally, UBA intends to sign a memorandum of understanding with two ANPA chapters to enhance cooperation and provide specialized banking services to ANPA members, including financial literacy sessions and access to healthcare infrastructure funds.
