UBA Promotes Diaspora Healthcare Investment at ANPA Symposium

UBA Plc reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening diaspora engagement to advance healthcare development in Nigeria during the ANPA Carolina Symposium held in Charlotte, North Carolina. The symposium, hosted by the South Carolina and North Carolina chapter of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in America (ANPA), convened 170 healthcare professionals for discussions on issues impacting communities across North America, the Caribbean, and Africa, particularly among people of Nigerian descent.

Anant Rao, UBA's head of diaspora banking, made a compelling case for structured diaspora participation in Nigeria's healthcare transformation, encouraging attendees to expand their contributions beyond remittances towards long-term institutional building and financial infrastructure. Rao introduced the ANPA-UBA diaspora healthcare investment platform, a managed investment vehicle designed to channel diaspora capital into specialist hospitals, diagnostic centers, telemedicine infrastructure, and medical training institutions across Nigeria.

He emphasized that every dollar invested would deliver dual returns, creating value for investors while contributing meaningfully to Nigeria's healthcare future.
