Liverpool Triumphs Over Atletico; Galatasaray Falls to Sporting

On Wednesday, Liverpool FC began their UEFA Champions League campaign with a 2-1 comeback victory over Atletico Madrid at Anfield. Atletico took the lead in the 17th minute through Marcos Llorente, assisted by Julián Alvarez.

Liverpool equalized just before halftime with a goal from Dominik Szoboszlai in the 40th minute, following a setup by Ronald Araújo. The hosts completed their comeback five minutes into the second half when Alexis Mac Allister scored from around 20 yards, assisted by Rio Ngumoha.

Liverpool's new manager, Andoni Iraola, celebrated a winning start in Europe. In contrast, Galatasaray, who initially led against Sporting CP after Lucas Torreira scored in the 6th minute, ultimately lost 3-1.

Sporting equalized through Geny Catamo in the 27th minute, took the lead with a penalty from Luis Suárez in the 54th minute, and sealed the win with a free-kick goal from Rodrigo Zalazar in the 63rd minute.
