Osimhen Aims to Break Champions League Records vs. Liverpool

Victor Osimhen, a 27-year-old Nigerian striker, is set to potentially surpass Ahmed Musa's record of 25 appearances in the UEFA Champions League when he takes the field for Galatasaray against Liverpool in the Round of 16 first leg at Ram Park, Istanbul. Osimhen has made 26 appearances in European competitions and has scored eight goals with two assists across eight Champions League appearances.

He aims to move ahead of Musa and also chase the record for the most goals scored in a single Champions League season for a player representing a Turkish club, currently held by Burak Yilmaz, who scored eight goals in nine appearances during the 2012-13 season. Osimhen's recent form includes a header in a 1-0 derby win against Besiktas, contributing to his 11th league goal of the season and extending his goal contribution streak to eight consecutive Super Lig appearances.

Galatasaray currently leads the Super Lig by seven points over Fenerbahce.
