UDUDSA, Colgate, NMA Provide Free Dental Services in Sokoto

The Usman Danfodiyo University Dental Students Association (UDUDSA), in collaboration with Colgate and the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), offered free medical services to 1,000 individuals in Sokoto during the 2026 World Oral Health Day celebrations. The event aimed to promote oral health awareness and improve hygiene in the community.

Abdulrahman Mustapha, the president of UDUDSA, highlighted the importance of oral health as a fundamental human right and encouraged people to visit the dentist at least twice a year. The initiative targeted underserved communities to provide access to quality dental care, featuring free dental check-ups and treatments.

Colgate contributed by donating toothpaste, while SAAHE Abdulsalam, the market manager for Colgate in Sokoto State, provided logistical support for the medical team. The initiative also included visits to local orphanages to sensitize children and donate toothpaste.

The collaboration demonstrated the power of partnerships in promoting health and raised awareness about the need for regular dental check-ups.
