UEFA Fines Barcelona Stars Yamal, Lewandowski Over Anti-Doping Protocol Breach

UEFA has fined Barcelona players Yamal and Lewandowski for breaching the anti-doping protocol during a match at San Siro. The European football governing body's Control Ethics Disciplinary Body confirmed the punishment, stating that the players violated a competition rule related to a failed drug test.

The incident occurred after Barcelona's loss, resulting in their exit from the tournament. In addition to the players' fines, UEFA also imposed penalties on head coach Hansi Flick and assistant Marcus Sorg for misconduct.

The pair breached the organization's general principle of conduct during the match. Barcelona as a club was also sanctioned for receiving a combined fine and for an object thrown onto the pitch and a firework ignited by a supporter.

The suspension and fines will take immediate effect, meaning Flick and Sorg will serve a ban for the club's next European fixture.
