Kvaratskhelia Named 2025/26 Champions League Player of the Season

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the Georgian winger for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), has been awarded the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League Player of the Season. This recognition comes after Kvaratskhelia's impressive season, where he scored ten goals and provided six assists over 16 matches.

His performance was highlighted during a crucial match against Arsenal, where he equalized in the 65th minute, leading to a dramatic extra-time finish that ended 1-1, with PSG winning 4-3 on penalties. The UEFA technical observatory board, comprising around 30 football dignitaries including Gareth Southgate, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Rafa Benitez, voted for the award.

A statement from UEFA described Kvaratskhelia's season as dazzling, noting his unforgettable contributions, including a stunning goal in the semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich and a fine double against Chelsea in the last 16. Kvaratskhelia also scored in the final, where PSG triumphed over Inter Milan 5-0.
