Uganda Reports Three New Ebola Cases Amid Outbreak

Uganda has reported three new confirmed cases of Ebola, specifically the Bundibugyo strain, which has raised public health concerns. The World Health Organization has declared the outbreak a rare public health emergency.

Among the new cases is a health worker who was exposed while caring for a patient. The third case involves a woman from the Democratic Republic of Congo who entered Uganda with mild abdominal symptoms and later sought care in a private hospital in Kampala.

After initial improvement, she tested positive for Ebola. Health officials have identified her as a known contact of confirmed cases and are monitoring the situation closely.

The Ministry of Health has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected symptoms as the region grapples with the ongoing outbreak.
