UK Commits £19m for Climate-Resilient Facilities in Nigeria - Partnership with FG and UNICEF

The UK pledges £19 million to develop climate-resilient health and education facilities in Nigeria in collaboration with the Federal Government and UNICEF. The funding aims to address the impact of climate change on essential services, with the inauguration of 84 upgraded school and health facilities in Kano and Jigawa States under the Climate Resilient Infrastructure for Basic Services (CRIBS) initiative.

The project includes the renovation of 39 primary healthcare centers and 45 schools designed to withstand climate shocks that often disrupt services in Nigeria. This initiative is a significant intervention in combating climate change's adverse effects on education and healthcare in the country.
