UNICEF Urges Govt to Fund Safe Schools in Conflict Zones for Children's Safety

UNICEF Nigeria called on the government to prioritize adequate funding for safe schools in conflict zones during an event in Maiduguri on September 15. Muhammad Riaz, the Education Manager and Sector Coordinator for UNICEF, emphasized the importance of protecting the education sector from attacks by armed groups.

The stakeholders urged the government to ensure that schools are safe and secure for children, especially in conflict zones. Riaz highlighted the need for proper funding to enhance school infrastructure and security measures to safeguard children's education in Nigeria.
