UK Nursery Worker Nathan Bennett Jailed for 24 Years

Nathan Bennett, a 30-year-old nursery worker, was sentenced to 24 years in prison by Judge William Hart at Bristol Crown Court for multiple charges of rape and sexual assault against children aged two to three. Bennett was convicted on eight charges related to five children and had previously admitted to 13 charges involving four children.

His actions were described as "incorrigibly dangerous" and "evil," prioritizing his sexual satisfaction over the welfare of the children. The case has drawn attention to child safety in nurseries, leading Prime Minister Keir Starmer to consider making CCTV mandatory in such facilities.

Concerns were raised about Bennett's continued employment at the nursery despite warnings from staff, which were allegedly not properly escalated. Families affected by Bennett's abuse are seeking accountability and improvements in safeguarding measures.

This case follows another incident involving Vincent Chan, who was jailed for 18 years for similar offenses.
