UK Pledges Support for Nigerian Democracy and Electoral Reform; Peace and Stability Focus

The United Kingdom has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening democracy and promoting good governance in Nigeria, along with supporting electoral reform for peace and stability. British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery, pledged this support during a meeting with Senator Simon Bako Lalong, Chairman of the Joint National Assembly Committee on Electoral Matters.

The UK is engaging key stakeholders to enhance future elections through amending electoral acts. Senator Lalong assured Montgomery of the National Assembly's collaboration with stakeholders to conclude the electoral reform process soon, appreciating the UK's support in this critical area.
