UK Government Sets Conditions for Child Student Visa

The UK government has outlined four essential conditions that foreign children must meet to obtain a Child Student visa, which allows them to study at independent schools in the United Kingdom. This visa is available for applicants aged between 4 and 17 years; those aged 18 or older must apply for a Student visa instead.

The four conditions include: having an unconditional offer of a place on a course at an independent school, securing a suitable living arrangement in the UK, demonstrating sufficient financial resources to support themselves and cover course fees, and obtaining consent from a parent or legal guardian to study and reside in the UK. The application fee for the Child Student visa is £558, applicable whether the application is made from within or outside the UK.

Additionally, applicants are required to pay a healthcare surcharge, which varies based on the duration of the visa.
