UK Enhances Security for Tinubu's March State Visit

The United Kingdom is tightening security measures for Nigerian President Bola Tinubu's state visit, scheduled for March 18-19. According to a statement from Thames Valley Police, these measures include temporary airspace restrictions around Windsor, where the visit will take place.

Chief Superintendent Adrian Hall noted that the airspace restrictions will be in effect from 7:00 AM to 11:59 PM during the visit. This is part of a comprehensive security operation conducted in collaboration with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and the Royal Household to ensure the safety of dignitaries and the general public.

The airspace around Windsor Castle is already under permanent restrictions throughout the year, and any violations of the temporary restrictions will be treated as a criminal offense under the Air Navigation Order. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has been alerted to monitor compliance and urged the public to report any suspicious activities.
